Sr. Network Engineer

Job Description

Our client, is seeking a talented Sr Network Engineer to work on a client site and join the team responsible for the overall design,devaluation and daily operation of a large Enterprise Network Infrastructure. This role serves as a "hands-on" network engineer directly responsible for Routing & Switching, Cisco Firewalls, Wireless technologies and the installation, configuration, upgrade, patching, maintenance and monitoring of network communication components across the entire Enterprise, while ensuring compliance to various security and encryption protocols and ensuring 100% availability of the network. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and support Cisco 6800, 3850, 3750, 3560, 2960 switches and Fortigate/Cisco firewalls.
  • Review existing configuration and setup and troubleshoot network outages/performance issues providing corrective action
  • Manage and support WAN technologies and Wireless LAN (Cisco 55000 WLC, 3700 and 3800)
  • Perform network monitoring and obtain and analyze network packet captures and traces
  • Troubleshoot Cisco Unified Voice and provide MACD support for Unified Voice
  • Work off hours to support Asia Pacific region and assist high severity incidents


Qualifications

  • Engineering, Computer Science, IS or related degree or combination of equivalent related work experience, education and training
  • Minimum 5 years related technical networking experience involving routers,switches, firewalls, VPN, WAN, Wireless, load-balancers,
  • Expertise with Cisco Routing (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and Switches (VLAN, Spanning-tree, Port configuration, QoS, VRF)
  • Strong experience with Cisco/Fortigate Firewalls and Wireless Technologies (Cisco, Aruba) including Cisco 881 router; ASA5505/5516 firewalls a plus
  • Ability to troubleshoot and support WAN technologies, Unified Voice, ISDN/transport
  • Experience performing network monitoring and using Solarwinds
  • Strong understanding of network architecture, standards, security policies and incident management
  • Flexible, self-motivated, critical-thinker with ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks across multiple sites and time zones
