Regional Business Development Manager - Life Sciences

Location: Greater Research Triangle Area, NC

Job Description

The Regional Business Development Manager is responsible for developing and driving revenue growth by building new business relationship and closing new sales opportunities in collaboration with the internal technical team. The Manager of New Business Development prospects new clients and sells solutions in a designated region/geographical area. This role requires proven hunting and farming skills, with a strong focus on hunting, as well as, a consultative approach to sell a portfolio of services within our life science consulting companies including:

  • Compliance/Quality Systems
  • Project/Program Management
  • Commissioning/Qualification/Validation
  • Engineering
  • Remediation

Ideal Qualities

  • Science or Technical degree
  • Life Science and/or Professional Services Industry Sales experience
  • Strong understanding of Regional Azzur services and industry

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and increases sales revenue to meet assigned goals and strives to exceed sales quotas
  • Conducts sales presentations, meetings and negotiations, closing the sale, in collaboration with internal technical teams
  • Insures new customers are effectively and efficiently serviced, resolving any issues or complaints  
  • Pursues new sales opportunities, gathers inbound leads, and conducts follow-up calls/meetings
  • Researches customer needs/requirements and prepares materials for follows up 
  • Attends trade shows and conferences and assists with planning of exhibits as needed
  • Develops and implements ideas/strategies to generate interest and bring in new business
  • Analyzes personal sales data and recommends changes for improved customer development
  • Develops sales quotes/proposals/contracts in collaboration with the technical team and answers customer inquiries/questions
  • Keeps informed of new products, services and other information of interest to customers and checks on competitive activity
  • Enters, maintains and tracks sales prospects and activity in company systems
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as necessary


  • Bachelor's degree & 3-plus years of B2B sales experience and a successful sales history
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven ability to establish customer rapport, identify needs and provide solutions
  • Effective organizational, interpersonal and communication, including presentation, skills
  • Client focused and results-driven with strong initiative and high business acumen
  • Ability to work from home-based office and conduct business travel as needed
